The mission of the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis is to train students in understanding of emotional and mental functioning so that they may contribute to the development of psychoanalysis and other fields of endeavor in a way that will respond to society's need for understanding of individual character development and human motivation. BGSP provides access to this training to college graduates from any academic discipline who demonstrate the ability and motivation. In keeping with this mission, BGSP programs are designed to prepare individuals to use psychoanalytic understanding in clinical and other professional settings, to transmit their understanding to others and to conduct and publish research contributing to the development of the field of psychoanalysis.
