Dear Friends of SPCA
International,
We're writing you because we know
you share our commitment to making the world a better place
for animals. We want to give you an opportunity to help us
make a real difference for some very special animals, animals
that have become symbols of hope and life in the middle of
death and despair, whose love and loyalty have brightened the
day when all around was dark. With their friendly barks,
playful spirits, and unwavering companionship, these are the
affectionate and beloved companion animals of U.S. soldiers
deployed in the Middle East and they?re in serious danger of
being left behind! Once abandoned, these animals face certain
neglect, possible abuse, and likely starvation.
SPCA International is launching a
major initiative that we call "Operation Baghdad Pups." It is
an exhaustive effort to help American soldiers stationed in
the Middle East to bring their mascots and companion animals
back to the United States. Generally, soldiers are required to
abandon their companion animals when they complete their tour
of duty. Since these companion animals have come to mean so
much to them, the resulting anxiety, guilt, and heartbreak is
immeasurable.
That?s where you come in. Your
support of
Operation Baghdad Pups will help SPCA work to bring these companion animals
from a war zone and get them to a safe home. The obstacles are
numerous but not insurmountable, and our success depends on
your generous contribution!
Our soldiers face constant
uncertainty and strife, but their companion animals (both cats
and dogs) through their companionship and devotion express a
faith in humanity that enlivens their days and gives hope for
a peaceful future. Please help
us provide these
wonderful animals with a future in a safe, secure home where
they can love and be loved.
Please visit our Web site to learn more about Operation Baghdad Pups
and join forces with SPCA to bring these animals home. Spread
the word and tell your friends
about Operation
Baghdad Pups. Together, we can make a difference!
Very sincerely,

JD Winston
