What are the methods I can use to add an event to the Calendar?
Events can be submitted on a form that are then entered by our staff to the calendar http://www.bostoncitylinks.com/postevent.html

When entering to the Calendar directly, you have control to update and revise the entry. You must register.

How do I know if an event listed on your site is free or if there is a ticket charge?
If an event is submitted without ticket information, we will attempt to make the determination as to whether the event is free or if there is a ticket charge. Moving forward, we will begin adding the word "Free" to those events that are free and add ticket prices to those events that charge.

I submitted an event a couple of days ago, and it still hasn't shown up on the calendar.
We are careful only to list actual events. For example, if a restaurant is offering a new lunch or dinner item, that is not an event. However, if the Restaurant is hosting an entertainment event or a charitable event, we will post it.
Additionally, we have gotten a few submissions missing critical details such as Address, Site etc of the event. If we are able to find the missing detail(s) we will post the event. However, if we can't identify the missing details, we are unable to post the event. It is best to complete the form with all fields entered.

When entering events directly to the calendar, after I make the entry to the form and click the button, I get an error message.
With this software, the date format must be exactly as the example shows mm/dd/yy if not correct as shown, the entry won't be accepted by the system. Also, if you are going to show the self-generating map, YOU MUST INCLUDE THE ZIP CODE. If you don't the system will reject the entire entry.
