Roland Davis wins 2 more National Competition Awards in '06
Winner of 3 coveted National Competition awards, Downbeat awards, and ASCAP Classical Composition Winner, West Coast, Roland graduated valedictorian, with Highest Honors and simultaneous degrees in Philosophy and Classical Composition from the University of Hawaii. He is now one of the select few chosen to study composition with Bob Brookmeyer at the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music.
A Presser Scholar and an All American Scholar, he has won over 30 awards and scholarships in Philosophy and Music including two Composer of the Year Awards, Phi Beta Kappa, Philosophy Departmental Award, Bud Shank Scholarship, and others, all while performing and teaching in 12 countries and his home: Hawaii
Recently, Roland conducted the premiere of "Dream Corridor Suite" for string orchestra, jazz orchestra and voice in the famous Jordan Hall.
