At New Art on Newbury, children are welcome to display and sell their artwork in the gallery. They can bring in a piece that they have made and title it, set their own price, and hang it in Kids Corner. The gallery will not take a commission so they can participate in the local artists' work here.
Tom McCarthy is the artist in residence and he paints at the gallery. He is known for his Boston after dark series, in particular the Citgo sign and also other landmarks.

Description: Since 1988, Fusco Four Modern has specialized in American and European works of art from about 1920 to about 1980.
They offer paintings, sculpture, works on paper and fine prints. This was an exciting era for fine art, reflecting both design movements and social changes: Art Deco, WPA, Social Realism, Regionalism, Modernism, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism and more.
Description: My paintings are open ended narratives that reconstruct the daily visual experience. The representative nature of my work makes it accessible.
Themes of flowers and birds recur in a figurea environment. The figures are often in contemplation not facing the viewer. Where the subjects portray ambiguity, the medium gives direction. I do not hide the character of the materials. Smudges of charcoal, lines of pastel, and textures of oil and wax offer a distinct voice and provide the tone.
