Description:
My paintings are open ended narratives that reconstruct the daily visual experience. The representative nature of my work makes it accessible.
Themes of flowers and birds recur in a figurea environment. The figures are often in contemplation not facing the viewer. Where the subjects portray ambiguity, the medium gives direction. I do not hide the character of the materials. Smudges of charcoal, lines of pastel, and textures of oil and wax offer a distinct voice and provide the tone.
